I was listening to a docu series and something caught my attention, an expert said one of the things that have stood the test of time without change is culture – Culture last for centuries and even with the change there is still elements that can be seen around. The Nigerian culture is determined by the tribes but where do some of this things come from because as we know Nigeria was formed by the colonial government, however there are elements of the culture that can be traced back to decades before, this element is the head-wrap.

Nobody knows why the Yoruba’s are so into their gele or why the Hausa’s love the Mayafi and let’s not forget the Igbo’s and their ichafo however we know they are all head wraps with meanings and a cultural element that make them stand the test of time…
