Marriage is an association that has been in existence since the earliest times and it has great importance on human life and society. Marriage as a term is a continuous union of a man and a woman as husband and wife under all kinds of conditions of life.
It is the foundation of the family which in turn is the cornerstone of society and carries universal importance. The marriage act has certain rules and patterns that change around the world, shaped by different cultures and entailing traditions and customs that define a particular society.
The traditional marriage is known as “Igba Nkwu” in Igbo land. In the eastern part of Nigeria. Every Igbo couple is expected to have a traditional wedding. This wedding takes place in the bride father’s house and that was exactly how the rites and customs were performed for Linda and Adeyemi. It was a joint ceremony that involves all members of the couple with the presence of their friends.
Linda was the epitome of Nigerian bride as she dressed in both Igbo and Edo traditional attires to show off the union of the two cultures. Her Benin bridal outfit was styled by Carlinda Ahya and accessories by Looks by Yemo.
The couple also dressed in the traditional Yoruba attire with aso oke and hand fan by Bimmms Alaso oke and Beads with gele tied by Oni gele. As a make up artist, Linda was all shades of beauty as she did all her make up by herself.
