Hey Divas,

No one will deny that Fashion is a tough business. The hours can be long and grueling, competition is fierce, and there are no guarantees as to how far you will go-and that’s if you can even get your foot in the door. There’s no need to get discouraged though, especially if you have what it takes in today’s multi trillion-dollar global fashion industry. If you are innovative, have loads of talent, drive, and stamina, and have the right education and training, you can bet your bottom dollar that you’ll get noticed. And it could happen sooner than you think. This was the case with our woman crush today.

When it comes to fashion designers that continue to push the bar in terms of edgy cuts and out-of-the-ordinary ensembles, Ogugua Okonkwo is definitely one to count. Og as she is fondly called, is quiet and unassuming, arguably owns one of the most prestigious fashion houses in Abuja ”Style Temple”.

A 2008 Medical Laboratory Science graduate from the University of Nigeria, she also has a certificate in fashion merchandising. She shot into spotlight after she clothed a former Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Arunma Oteh, on her 50th birthday.

It is not enough that she has built for herself a brand that defines what it means to be fashion forward and sophisticated, with such creativity that’s present in a few and appreciated by all, Og herself has style. The plethora of shoes, the structure in the pieces and the detailed way she combines them, Og does know how to design and style.

A lover of her pieces and designs, here are looks that proves Ogugua Okonkwo is a fashion icon…
