Taking a wife in Hausa land usually begins with what is known as ”Na gani ina” meaning I like what I see. Most Hausa cultural marriages are primarily based on Islamic rites, the nikkhai must precede all wedding ceremony. The culturally rich events tend to last about a week, starting with an wedding fatiha and ending with the main wedding reception.
This wedding reception is called “walimah”, which translates to ‘wedding feast’ and is usually held after the wedding fatihah. It is usually trendy as any modern wedding reception with a formal banquet or it could be low-noise and very traditional. At any rate, there is plenty of food and drinks and enjoyment for families, friends and well-wishers during the wedding walimah which was exactly the case of Fati and Faisal‘s on their wedding. Fati and Faisal had all the fun with family and friends who came to celebrate with them.
Dressed in an all white floor length attire with a matching veil, Fati was the focus of her wedding reception as her groom , Faisal, couldn’t take his eyes off her. With a simple and elegant make up, Fati stood out with her radiant black skin. Faisal was an handsome groom in a grey traditional buba and sokoto with a matching agbada with cap.
