I found a funny quote online taking from the #wakandadforever movement, it goes thus “The revolution would not be texturized”. For those of you who do not know, our natural hair textures are too tough for some people who are too lazy or too busy to have time for their daily hair routine and so this people result to ‘texturizing’ their hair. We are of cause not against this step however, if the idea is to remove all harmful chemicals away from your natural hair then texturizing-although a mild form of relaxing isn’t the best thing for you to do.
We get it, you love those natural curly bounce that your afro hair gives you however taking care of it causes you a headache so you result to texlaxing (same thing as texturizing); even this step can cause your hair to be damaged if you don’t know how to treat it well.
Since we are not here to blame you for using a texturizer we can help you by telling you a few steps that would make your hair healthy under the chemical pressure…
- Using a texture relaxer for your hair should take you 5 minutes only anything after this means you want to relax your hair because no matter how mild they say this product is, it’s still chemical and it’s going to straighten your hair out. To be safer use the one’s for kids rather than adults.
- If you’ve used a texture relaxer for your hair then you have to wait another 3-6 months before another application as the texture relaxer tends to linger longer in your hair. To test this out, pour water into your hair and watch it curl.
- As usual after applying the texture relaxer wait for at least one to two weeks before you make your hair. This way your hair would not be put into any pressure.
Now let’s take a look at natural hairstyle inspired by the #wakandadforever movement & revolution…
