Because palm oil is the main ingredient of most of our soup its hars to think up another alternative, which brings me to our meal of the day.
A few weeks back we proved to you that an oil-less soup can be delicious as well by bringing you a video recipe of the Tasty oil-Less Seafood okra soup. This week we have another proof, you can enjoy your eba, wheat, semo etc with a oil-less soup. Watch sisi yemmie teach us another delta recipe, the Egusi peppersoup which as it turns out is an oil-less dish.
This is what you’ll need for the egusi peppersoup;
* 200g Blended Melon (Egusi)
* 1/4 Ground Crayfish
* 1/4 Peppersoup Spice
* Iwo/Ehuru (10) (this is what gives the pepper soup aroma)
* Urheri /Uda (2) ( take out the seed and discard)
* Umilo/Ulima (2 )
* Ataiko/Atariko 1/2 tsb (this looks similar to irugeje)
* Irugeje (21/2 tsb)
* 1 tsp Salt
* 1 Seasoning Cube
* 4 Habanero (Ata rodo)
* 1 tsp Cameroon Pepper (Yellow Pepper)
* 3 Cups Water
* Smoked Chicken (as much as you like)
* Handful of Big Dried Shrimps
* 2 Smoked Panla Fish
* 3 Smoked Catfish
* Boiled Beef and stock
