The nigerian meat pie is a snack that you can get in an eatery or on the road side, its something everyone loves to munch on and its a perfect brunch desert.
There is no joy than that of creating something by yourself, the nigerian meat pie is something to create because its a delicious soul food and you can regulate what you put into your pie to make it rich and appetizing. Preparing the nigerian meat pie is no childs play, it can be a very frustrating feat, so you have to pay close attention to how it is done, the mix has to be perfect any mis-step and it becomes hard or it burns.
Note that even if the first round is not perfect then the next batch might be but don’t let the frustration keep you from perfecting this very useful skill. There are things that you would need to be able to prepare the nigerian meat pie and they include;
What you’ll need;
- 4 cups of all purpose flour
- 11/2 Cups of Margarine (use 1 Cup margarine and 1/2 Cup Butter for a flakier dough)
- 1/4 Tsp Baking Powder(optional)
- 1 Tsp Nutmeg
- 5-6 Tablespoons of very cold Water ( or as needed)
- 1 large Egg (for Egg washing)
What You’ll need for the filling
- 1 Cup diced Carrots
- 1 Cup diced Potatoes
- 11/4 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Teaspoon Curry powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon Thyme
- 2 Bouillon Cubes
- 1/2 Cup of Water
- 2 Tablespoons Flour
- 1 Pound Ground beef
