The omelette gets it’s origin from France and it consisted of very simple ingredients, that is however different from the modern recipe’s that flood book shelves and the internet. In cuisine, the simple France version consist of beaten eggs fried with butter or oil, however the addition of chives, meat (ham or bacon), cheese, vegetable, folded into the beating spread out in the pan are other recipe’s that gives the omelette a flavor full taste.
For most people they, derive pleasure in a fluffy omelette which can be made by beating the whites only of an egg or whole, adding a bit of water, cream or milk. The idea behind this mixture is so that “bubbles” of water vapor would be trapped inside the rapidly cooked egg. This style is what makes the egg fluff and melt in your mind.
We’ve seen that the omelette created by the originals is way different from the one’s we see in Nigeria. Although flipping and folding is definitely the same, the ingredients found withing are quite different. Because we love spices, our omelette can have an array of all types of pepper, some also have vegetable like “Ugwu” (spinach pumpkin), lettuce etc
Omelette is a great idea for breakfast that you can serve alone or with other meals like, fried or boiled yam, bread, fried or boiled plantain, sweet or Irish potato etc. If you have kid’s then this is a good and healthy way to start their morning, eating a tasty omelette or packing it to school;
