Weddings are dreamy and usually in Africa they are not as experimental as they are right now in diaspora this is because we love to keep to traditions, it reminds of who we are, where we came from and what future to look forward to, so young girls are thought to dream of weddings the way our mothers and grandmothers dreamed about it however we can’t deny that things change so this young girls grow up to add a little bit of twist to their wedding ceremony without affecting tradition.
While we absolutely love tradition we can’t help but make it feel like us, afterall its our wedding and it would only happen once so having a bit of our soul in it is our way of reminding us that even though we considered all the family members the day still belonged to us.
