One major trend we have come to see and accept is the second wedding dress, as some might call it the “Reception dress”. A major trend commonly found in the European countries is fast becoming a must-do trend in Nigeria. Reception dress is a dress the bride wears after the main wedding gown to rock at the reception.
Having attended quite a lot of weddings, I took my time out to ask brides ‘why a reception dress?’ and of course, everybody had different ideas and reasons. Some said they fell in love with two wedding dresses and decided to rock both while some said they could barely walk well in their main wedding dress and opted for a more relaxed and comfortable dress to rock their reception with. My favourite of them all was the bride that said it was her day and she could as well rock 5 dresses as long as she could afford it.
Weddings are happy moments and it’s a day to do whatever you like and if yours is to wear a lovely and beautiful reception dress, then go ahead. Like I always say it’s a once in lifetime event (at least for most people), so rock well to keep the memories forever.
